You should ask this in an American forum.

xtina...yeah i guess your right..we canadians don't come up with new ways of killing people..sorry we were to busy inventing and discovering things like insulin, blackberry, colbalt 60(cancer treatment machine) the basketball, electric oven, electric wheelchair, electron microscope, explosive vapour detector, goalie mask,g-suit,pacemaker,plexiglas,radio voice transmission,ski-doo,snowblower,telephon... talkie, do your research and dont be so ignorant..its people like you that make americans look stupid...... note: i dont hate americans..i just hate ignorance

I'm from Northern Michigan and we get tons of Canadian tourists but I couldn't pick one out of a crowd. Last time I was on the Ontario side of the Soo everyone was nice. I just read a story on the BBC website that said that Canada has the most stable banking system right now. So I guess I think you're better off than we are, and I get the suspicion that it's a lot more fun up there than we've been let in on. I don't really have any blanket stereotypes for Canadians except that you guys just seem like a country full of decent people.

Edit-- To be honest, people like "xtina" make me embarrassed to say I'm an American. We're not all obnoxious and ignorant. Unfortunately, those are the people who are most vocal here.

Not that much. We usually don't hear much world news about the happenings of canada. They are our neighbors to the north and i guess we just assume that they are a lot like us. Same continent, same language (for the most part) us americans don't learn hardly anything about canadian history in school.

I don't know, anyway, Canada is much more progressed than USA. I think it has the good characteristics of both Europe, America and Australia. It's somehow more European than America, it also is similar to Australia and New Zealand in too many things (same Queen, similar history, politics etc...). Canada has a better educational and health systems, more peaceful than USA, less racism and more democracy. Canada shouldn't be compared to the States, it is in line with Scandinavian countries.

Ask it in an American category...not Canadian

They're pretty great...I fell in love with one and now I'm in Canada. :)

Even Torontonians, who have a reputation amongst Canadians as being uptight, are so friendly. Everyone's going somewhere and it's a bustling city, but people are quick to help a mom with a stroller stepping off a bus or hold a door for the person behind them.

The Onion's Atlas of the Planet Earth says that there are two types of Canadians: those who are polite, and those who are too polite to tell you they've been placed in the wrong group. :)

I also think that Canadians are open-minded and educated. I love Canadians!

P.S. Xtina, basketball?!?! Tim Hortons? Jim Carrey?! I jest, but seriously, what an ignorant answer!

I don't think they're very interesting people, and they don't invent stuff and come up with new ideas the way Americans do. Exciting new things don't come out of Canada. Why is that?
