If I didn't like the UK or it's people, I wouldn't have travelled there 8 times so far and planning yet another trip. It also helps that half of my family originates from there, but myself, I'm a born Canadian. I'm also former Canadian Navy, when it was known as the Royal Canadian Navy, emphasis on the Royal. Quite common for a member of the ship's company to suddenly stand up in the Jr. ranks mess and toast " Gentlemen, the Queen" to HRH's portrait. We wouldn't be doing that if we weren't proud of our national roots and other ties with the UK, would we? :)
Myself, I can never get enough of the history of the UK nor the geography of the place. I've always been treated very well there, almost to the point of being embarrassed by it. I once planned a trip to Hendon with the idea I would see both the Battle of Britain Museum AND the RAF Museum in the same day. Uhhuh...I started in the BBM when it opened in the morning and the next time I looked at my watch it was 15 minutes to close. Excellent museums there and the National Trust is a great organization.

I am Canadian - live in Alberta.. have been to England and Wales twice.. I quite liked it and have nothing against the UK... I think its funny how you seem to adore the monarchy and celebrities in general (much like the Americans do too)
I love the history- the old castles and ruins... and I think its great that most shops want you to bring your own bags..
Like most countries I feel the UK is over populated...and too much deforestation has taken place.. so many species killed..
you have some more humane treatments of your food animals than in North America and I was THRILLED when they made Fox Hunting illegal!!! Your horse racing is far more civilized than in North America..
Your cars are more reasonable sized (far too big here) but you take football far too seriously lol

I spent 6 months there and really loved it. The people were very nice and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I love history so it was right up my alley. Friends of mine have a canal boat and that was a great experience. I expect to go back someday just not in the immediate future.

I love your country's accent.

It's a nice place I'm sure, tons of history. But honestly, I would think for the most part we hear and know very little about contemporary UK issues and culture.

I think of soccer hooligans and a good old pub atmosphere lol.

I really couldn't offer any kind of certain impression I have of the United Kingdom. All the people I ever meet from the British Isles are very pleasent.

okay well most canadians have british heritage or connections .As Canada is a commonwealth country and in the 80's received signed independency .
MOst Canadains repsect British ...French Canadians lol well they fighting to say their in a world of their own at times so I can not answer for them .
I have many friends at works that have immigrated from the UK ...and myself lots of family in the UK as well ..
Our currency still has the monarchy on it and our history as you know is very much tied with the British ...sometimes new immigrants from other countries do not realize that .
I think due to this it sometimes comes down to the background of many Canadians in how they respect our past.
