What do torontorians think about their city. all i gotta say is...?

... great city. i wish LA was similar. i like the underground PATH (which is needed in the winter for you guys).the public transportation is top notch. the people are really friendly. the city is clean and safe. and the women in toronto are beautiful, not like LA where all the girls are stuck up and they all look the same. overall the city is the best ive seen.

Someone must be doing crack. There were a total of 78 murders in Toronto in 2006 and an average of 500 murders in Canada for the year. Less murders in the whole country than in Los Angeles alone.

There were 523 murders in 2006 in L.A. and the U.S. has an AVERAGE OF 15,000 MURDERS PER YEAR. That's right 15,000!!!!!

Toronto has had an upswing in murders this year because for the first time we are experiencing gang murders and drive bys in one specific area of Toronto. Even if the number for the year doubles it still isn't anywhere close to the statistics for any major city in the U.S.

Did you know a couple of years ago a movie was being shot in downtown Toronto and the crew had to go out and find garbage to scatter around on the street to make it look like the U.S. They left for lunch and when they came back street workers had cleaned up the garbage and they had to go find more. That is absolutely a true story. Toronto is a beautiful, cosmopolitan city with much to do and wonderful places to visit. Please come and see for yourself. You will love it.

So to the person who left Toronto please don't even suggest that Toronto is a violent, dirty, crime ridden city. That would mean everyone else is wrong and you are the only one right. I don't think so.

I lived in T.O for 1 year and loved the place, people are very pround of the place and its nice and safe.

The only thing I didnt like was the GST on to of everything, i am used to all the taxes included into the price.

Apart from that great place for kids, young adults & life in general

I live in TDOT!! YAAAY....first Toronto question....

The TTC - toronto transit comm (subway) is great and reliable. Clean. Ppl are friendly.

All Public transports are reliable and cheap.

It is clean and safe (you have a few bad areas but every city in the world does). You just know to stay away from a couple areas.

And the woman can be beautiful yes. We love to go clubbin downtown on weekends when we get the chance!! There are so many great bars to sit and chill out, or dance your butt off!!

Oh and free healthcare!! dont need a penny!

COME BACK TO TORONTO!!!!!

I have traveled all over the world and I have to say I'm so proud of Toronto. It truly is one of the cleanest, friendliest cities I have ever visited.

Thank you so much for the compliments on Toronto. Those who run it down should take a trip to London, Hamburg, and Amsterdam. Even those places for big cities are not that bad, but if you think Toronto is dirty heaven forbid you ever visit one of these places. Trust me Toronto is a jewel in our crown.

Thank you for saying that Toronto is a great city. It is, indeed, a beautiful city. Don't let the crime stop you or anyone else from visiting this lovely place.

What's also great is the diversity.

The only thing I don't like about Toronto is the violence. And that will hopefully stop. May Jordan Manners, my former neighbour, rest in peace.

But in other words, Toronto is a city NOT to be missed.

I love Toronto, granted we do have a couple shady patches. Almost all the murders in our fair city happen in one of three neighbour hoods. The Richmond Club Distract, St. Jamestown or our beloved Jane and Finch (it is notorious). The city is safe and clean, and although we moan about transit (frequently) it really isn't that bad.

The architecture is phenomenal, I am often in awe by the juxtaposition of old and new and how it blends seamlessly to make the city absolute gorgeous. There is always plenty to do as it seems we love out festival, although in the summer between the beer festival, taste of danforth, the Asian festival and the one in little Italy I must admit it is easy to pack on a few pounds.

I am happy you had such a great time in Toronto, thank you for visiting!

Ok, I've lived in Toronto most of my life (came here when I was 2, I'm 18 now) and I'm gonna be honest:
- All people care about here is money
- TTC bus drivers are ridiculously rude
- It's crowded if you go to places that are crowded...like a busy street like yonge street instead of a park
- The traffic is REALLY bad at rush hour
- There's a zillion different nationalities
- Everyone always looks miserable and pissed off
- People judge how you look and look down on you if you look the least bit different
- The nightlife will be non-existant pretty soon, they are shutting down most of the nightclubs
- There's a lot of dirty, bad areas (Jane and Finch, Scarborough, etc.)
- You can make well over $100, 000 and still won't find a decent place to live
- You'll run out of fun things to do very quickly
- Car insurance is insanely expensive...thats why I can't get a car
- I wish I lived in LA soooo bad =( your nuts!

Melissa R
wow, i am really surprised to hear that, but it is nice to hear. i think TO is kinda dirty lol

Toronto is Lucifer. Most Torontonians worry about being assumed by Lucifer or one of their lives and shaking or quaking or jumping off a balcony or getting in a car wreck or just doing something stupid to itself. So, Toronto is proud of it's international trading to get rid of these problems, especially hearing voices which seems to happen to everyone who deals with Toronto.

Thanks man. Toronto seems like a violent grey city with harsh poorness and extreme wealth. But I guess thats because I have lived here for so long. I like the Raptors though.

I lived in Toronto for 25 years and it has really changed over those years...now I live in Brissy,QLD and I'd never look back...those responding saying that Toronto is clean, nice, people are courteous, etc are dead wrong...the place is dangerous (75 murders/year), dirty/scummy, and people are definitely not nice...however I still have found memories of the way it use to be!!!!!
