I love the beauty of Canada, and how easy it is to find lovely natural areas even if you live in a City. I also love all the wilderness areas, how clean it is, and the high quality of life.

FYI; Canada is NOT "little" or "junior" America, and thank God for that! (Please take note I am an American by birth but a Canadian in heart). Anyone who has lived in both countries knows that Canada is a great nation in it's own accord!

I love Canada, and I love living here. There are pro's and con's, like any country, but this is where I choose to hang MY hat!

--Great Health Care System.
--Untouched wildreness areas.
--Fabulous City Life
--Diverse landscapes.
--Best beer.
--Canadian Club Whiskey.
--And of course ME.

Alomost forgot....the ten months of bone chilling cold and the 2 months of misquitos that can carry off small animals and children.

I like "public" medical care. (It's not free as taxes still pay for it).
The level of hockey is fantastic.
Canada has had a female prime minister already.
The larger cities are not overcrowded like in some other countries.
Canada believes whenever possible to engage in peace keeping missions and giving aid.
Canada has a large untouched wilderness and protected in the north from oil drilling.
One of Canada's northern territories is run by oboriginal people.

Well, I can think of hundreds of reasons, but here's the top 5:

1. Freedom like no other country in the world
2. Limitless opportunity regardless of economic or social status
3. Free healthcare
4. Best hockey on earth, (go habs go)
5. We're not the USA!!

Canada has some fantastic ice hockey, one of the best sports ever. Though it is farther north, it has some warm places, like Vancouver, British Columbia. Also, it has some pristine environments, some places where humans have never touched. They have cheaper prescription drug prices.(And they don't have George Bush as leader.)

It's just a totally awesome country that's far cleaner and I think more friendly than the US. Also people are less materialistic and arent obsessed with sueing and getting to the top AS much. Its also less violent and I feel just an all around awesome place! The only thing I don't like is the high taxes on everything, but it does help the community so it's ok.

i like living in a place where i can experience all four seasons, i love the landscape, trees, the colour of leaves as they change throughout the year, the lake is awesome to cruise on, the ice skating is always fun, canada has like a million trails, the railways across canada are really fun to ride on, traditions (ice sculpting, hockey, independence day) are all done in a fashion unique from most other countries...

Klondike_kate
A shorter list would be what don't I love about Canada? And the answer is nothing!

But yeah not having George Bush around is a pretty big bonus. And... WE ARE NOT "Little America"!!! We are WAY cooler then that!

elmjunburke
I've been there many times, I like just about everything except that lousy winter cold.

i think canada has one of the most beautiful places in the world.. the okanagan valley!! It has HOT summers with beautiful lakes and beaches and blue skies and green mountains. And the winters arrent too cold but theres still beautiful snow and awesome skiing up at Silver Star, Sun Peaks and Big White. Its just altogether the most beautiful and scenic area in canada for sure.

Millionaire in training
Great medical benefits and good beer.

ctcougar360
lowered level for drinking which is 19 (even tho im 24), um legalized marijuana. I really dont care about it but it doesnt bother me, to me ppl are ppl and all men are created equal, what i mean is gay and lesbians legalized or whatever. um POT like i mentioned, its green there and cleaner than USA. ummm what else, smoking is banned in public places (such as clubs, and bars), and some of the canadians girls are prettier than americans.
And the fact that canada is the Junior America lol

I'd like to address a few things people have brought up:
-Our healthcare system is terrible - most Canucks will agree with this(7 hours in a waiting room sound good to you?). Canadians only bring up the fact that we have a "free" healthcare system to sound superior to Americans.(which we aren't)

- We are less polluted than America - somewhat, but ever been to Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal? Very polluted corridor.

-We have had a female P.M. - she wasnt even elected as PM. Mulroney resigned and she became PM. She lost in one of the largest landslide elections in Canadian history four months later.

- Canada is different from the US - not in most aspects, one of the major differences is the attitude towards a eachother(Canadians are anti-american, Americans, mostly arent anti-Canadian)Btw - Canadians and Americans are both arrogant - just in different ways - Canadians are arrogant in the respect they think they are better and far superior to America, this comes accross in questions about Canada, b/c the Canadians will always resort to bashing American.

-Canada is a free country - damn straight

-Canada is friendly - many Canadians are friendly, however, arrogance and snobbery resides in many urban Canadians.

biffnasty
they are located to the best country in the world AMERICA
they are the little AMERICA of this world...
that's prob the best thing about canada

napqueen
