What do you need to get into Canada from the US? |
I'm 15 years old, so I know the restrictions are different. I'm going to Canada this weekend and I've heard mixed messages as to what I should bring. I know you need to bring your birth certificate, but does it have to be the actual birth certificate or can it be a copy? And also, I think you have to have ID, does a school ID count? =D thanks. Additional Details I'm driving into Canada, if it helps. And also, are there different rules to getting back into the US? |

Well first of all you MUST have a NOTARIZED CONSENT form signed by your parents because you're 15 years old and since you're driving "THIS WEEKEND" all you need is a photo id and your ORIGINAL birth certificate. You proabably aware that on or after June 09 you must present a VALID PASSPORT regardless of how you get in here "by land, air or sea" Hope it helps :) |
|

short and to the point
 |
since you are under 18. if you are not going with your parents you will need a notarized letter from both parents giving permission. a notarized copy of a birth certificate is allowable. passport is not required until june 1st. |

Try getting a passport.

You have to have some photo ID. If your school ID has your photo, it is acceptable.
You will also need a notarized statement, signed by both your parents, giving you permission to make this trip.
As to the rules getting back into the US - you'd have to check with US customs and immigration for that. It has nothing to do with Canada
Have fun on your tirp! |

I would say you need a car, gasoline, and determination. =D. If you don't feel like doing the car route.......Catapults work fine, just make sure your Canadian friends position the mattress just right ;D. |
