What does Toronto mean for you? What kind of city do you think it is?

Is it a glamourous city like Paris or London (or Milan), where people dress well and with fashion?
Is it a "Be cool-West Coast" city like San Francisco or Vancouver?
Or is it more of a business city?
Is it a place where you want to spend the rest of your life?

What do you think, What kind of city is or should be Toronto?

Toronto is a clean, safe, cosmopolitan city with a wonderful network of parks, recreational, and cultural facilities. Toronto is the home of four professional sports teams and the third largest English-speaking theatre district in the world, behind New York and London. One of the world's most ethnically diverse cities, it is home to more than 80 ethnic communities from Africa, Asia, and Europe. Toronto is also the business centre of Canada

I've been to Toronto and I think it is a culturally diverse city that is more glamorous than business. It is extremely clean and safe city unlike large U.S. cities. It is a great city to visit and is truly one of the jewels of North America. Viva Toronto!

I'm from Detroit and I also love Windsor, it's amazing what a different city it is from Detroit, just 2 miles over the bridge and your in a entirely different culture.

Toronto isn't a glamorous city like Paris or London, but it's certainly a modern business city. In most areas, Toronto is clean and safe, but like any major city, Toronto has it's issues. In my opinion, there is a lack of affordable housing in Toronto and GTA. I see lot’s of large homes and expensive condos being built everywhere, but I don’t see a lot of affordable housing and there is certainly a need for it in the GTA. In some areas of Toronto (especially North York) small older homes are bought out and then large mansions are built over them. I live an hour west of Toronto in Milton, and when I visit Toronto I notice a lot of homeless people on the streets and there are a lot of young families living in Toronto who should be able to find affordable housing in a safe area, instead of a run down apartment building.

It's a united sports city. No matter what sport you love, you know the Toronto franchise will suck . It should be the City of Charlie Browns, always knowing he will kick the ball the next time, but at the last minute Lucy pulls it away. Misery loves company, and Toronto is a company town for sports fans..

Didn't someone once refer to Toronto as "New York, run by the Swiss"!
Addition - it was Peter Ustinov, quite a while ago.
