What does a house cost in Canada ? |
Here in the US in my area, if you live in a major city a 4 room house can go for 200-500K USD depending on location and land. If you go out to the middle of no where, maybe you can get the same house for 80-150K USD.
So I would like to hear from my brothers in the great north, how much does a house near a major city and one in the distant suburbs cost ?
Please name and describe the area that comes with the price quote and make sure you let me if your talking in American or Canadian money :-D
I would also accept any Canadian relastste websites. Any info that you guys can provide on the current housing market and loan info would be great too.
Thank you all ahead of time.

i highly recommend you not apply for a loan because you will end up losing more than double of the price of your house for my house i pay mortgage of about $2000USD for my $500000USD house i bought 2 years ago the market here has been ok but not perfect my value for my house increased by 14% so far but last year it had an increase of 20%.. If you are looking for a mortgage check this website out http://www.canequity.com/ or http://www.canadamortgage.com/RatesShow/ShowRates.cfm and see who offers better rates.... It is a very hard thing to do to move from country to country.. can i ask you why the move? are you looking for a better job, new oppurtunity or your not a fan of Barack Obama and want to escape America?
some real estate companies that i've seen offer good deals
are royal lepage canada http://www.royallepage.ca/ and remax canada http://www.remax.ca/ and good luck
for loan info i'd check out TD bank and RBC www.tdcanadatrust.com and http://www.rbc.com/ i'm with both those companies and their rates aren't too bad i'd also recommend you check out ING Direct for mortgage and loan info

All I can tell you is it usually a lot more expensive here to own a house. Unless you live in the prairies.
A house in the neighbourhood I live in, in Toronto is a million dollars and up.:S

For real estate prices in Canadian dollars, the easiest site to use is mls.ca , then all you need to do is click on any area of the Canada map that appears for home listing in that area, you will easily be able to enter all the info you need, price, bedrooms, bathrooms etc. Once you enter your info, you can then navigate the Country checking out costs for the same things you are looking for in all areas, Vancouver to St. John's, Newfoundland. Very easy site to use. Best wishes and please check out Prince Edward Island and Shediac area in New Brunswick (both in eastern Canada) for price comparisons to other major areas. |

In my small city of 75,000 people, you cannot even purchase a small, 2 bedroom home for under $200,000......But a town I used to live in further North, I could have bought a rather nice, four/five bedroom home for around $20,000.............but I prefer to live closer to a city which has all the amenities I need. |

I just moved into an 4 bedroom Igloo up here in Shoddily, Northern Canada. Cost me im guessing about 4 fox furs and the hind side of a Caribou, I recon that might be around five thousand Loonies in your parts. The area in these parts is quite large, lots of them there mountains and rivers and stuff, and you got no problems with loans in these parts, as a matter of fact I just loaned out one of my dogs to the Doc the other day.

Here in Vancouver, British Columbia minimum price is around $700,000USD, and that is for small 1/2 bedroom houses.
More north you go the cheaper it is. |
