What fun things are there to see between BC and Alberta?

I am going on a trip in the summer from Chilliwack, BC to Calgary Alberta, via the coquihalla highway. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good sights to stop and see. I am taking my 8 year old son with me.

The whole drive is beautiful, make sure to stop in Lake Louise...just a short distance off the route. (You won't be going thru the Kootneys). Also Feild is very pretty and there are many neat things to see such as Emerald Lake, Natural Bridge and more waterfalls than you could imagine! The drive is a trip itself!!

Ah you live in Chilliwack! I live in Abbotsford.
Stops all along the way, points of interest. You will love the park, mountain and waterfalls all over. When get outside of Revelstoke the may be a wait as they are doing road construction.
You want to stop at 3 Valley Cap (before Revelstoke)

I agree with a previous poster that Nelson, Kaslo and Ainsworth hot springs are all worth checking out. You can take a tour of an old mining town, and you can also take a tour of where the Japanese were sent durring WWII. If you are into Kokanee beer, you can go take a tour of their brewery, it's along the way. Christina lake is also a nice place to camp, and in the summer the lake is really warm. Stop off at some of the fruit stands as you go- really yummy fresh produce.

If you're in Calgary in the first half of July, ya gotta check the Stampede.

there's a nice hot spring on Kootenai Lake just north of Nelson. The view is beautiful. I also really enjoyed the drive between Kaslo and Nakusp. there were a lot of old mining ghost towns and it was very wild and primitive country

Actually I am planning the same trip lol I am just outside of Chilliwack , so this question was very interesting to me :) Thank you for asking it !

Lyn
I am in Kamloops, which is midway between Chilliwack and Calgary.
