Ottawa - people there are very friendly and it is very clean

I'll get on my soap box once again, figuring if maybe it's said often enough it'll get into people's heads: Yes French is the official language in Quebec, but we all have to learn English in school, and will speak English well enough to accommodate tourists. The thousands of tourists who come each year don't seem to mind. Every single museum or place to visit will have brochures and signs in both English and French, tour guides are readily available in English as well.

Quebec is absolutely beautiful. If you're not coming here because of the language issue in your head, you're missing out on a wonderful experience and great vacation. Visit the link below to see for yourself.

And by the way, I am not diminishing the other provinces, which are also very beautiful, I'm just tired of everyone bashing on Quebec because we were given the right to speak our own language in our own country.

The Maritimes/Atlantic Canada - New Brunswick, Nova Scotia (esp. Cape Breton, which is the large island part of NS), PEI and also Nfld.

You would probably have the most fun in Cape Breton. The drive around the Cabot Trail is incredible, and CB has a lot of Scottish culture - lots of ceilidhs, Gaelic, and in October they have the Celtic Colours festival with spectacular events all over the island with the backdrop of amazing Autumn colours. Cape Bretoners are known for being very friendly and welcoming;-) I would recommend staying in a nice little cabin/cottage somewhere near Margaree (if you like that sort of thing) otherwise there are great B&Bs ...and the usual hotels in Sydney. If you want a bit of a break along the way from driving up to CB from Halifax, I HIGHLY recommend the quaint little cottages at Tracadie which is near Antigonish (a very cute university town) http://novascotia.com/en/home/accommodations/listingdetails.aspx?mode=4&id=L1381&pg=1&comm=Tracadie&r=1 Especially one of the 2 bedroom cottages. I've stayed there several times while attending the Antigonish Highland Games which are held every July.

Go to one of the Atlantic Provinces or a Maritime province, Toronto isn't best compared to sight seeing with the other Provinces(Alberta, B.C) but you get to experience alot of multiculturism within one city , good shopping locations (BLOOR!) + convinent hotels downtown and some decent sight seeing (Roger center, CN tower, Niagra Falls if you can endure the painful distance)

some nice places to visit is Newfoundland (Bonne Bay), Fort Mc Murray Alberta, Edmonton, Calgary, BC , Toronto (Canada's Wonderland), there really nice places and nice people there too.

well I don't totally understand you're question but I'll try my best.
Quebec,Ontario,Toronto(busy but good to give visit),Edmonton,(a drive thru Calgary will be nice too cause you could see rocky maintain),Regina cold but nice,some people visit Saskatoon,Vancouver,Victoria,Granville island,if you are a wine freak Kelowna,Halifax,yellow knife also attracts tourists.

Canada is a vast and wonderful country. Basically everywhere in Canada you can speak English although rural Quebec maybe a problem.
It will all depend where you are going and what your interests are. Toronto, Ont and Vancouver BC are big cosmopolitian cities. BC and Alberta are mountainous provinces Bc also has the Pacific Ocean while Alberta in inland but has many lakes. Calgary is a western type city and Edmonton has one of the worlds largest malls. Nova Scotia is at the opposite side of Canada and has the Atlantic Ocean and is a very scenic and rustic province.

Manitoulin Island in Lake Huron, is the biggest freshwater island, I own land on a lake in the island and it is beautiful.

I agree that Quebec (La Belle Province!) is a wonderful place to visit. I have been there many times, and did not need to know French in order to enjoy the experience. I highly recommend it.

The Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E.I., and Newfoundland) are also good choices. The people are very friendly, and the scenery is beautiful.
