What is a good city to visit in Canada around new years that's good for families?

Toronto is a very beautiful city -- there are some spots, like all cities, that I woud avoid, but the bigger parts around the CN tower are quite beautiful and there are lots of neat things to do. The tower lights up, you are quite close to Niagara Falls (which is MUCH more beautiful on the Canadian side than on the NY side!!) -- and there is Youngestreet -- The longest street in the country. Very cool!

Lots to do and see, and very, very clean and safe. Have travelled there many, many times alone and with my children. Never had a problem, never disappointed. Have a wonderful time. Just bundle up -- it gets very cold in the winter!

The Toronto and Niagara Falls region is beautiful and the City of Toronto puts on a "dry" family oriented celebrations, you would enjoy them.

Toronto. It's Canadas New York City.

But why not just go to New York City lol?

Toronto or Montreal or Quebec City but the weather sucks at that time of the year, so I would say Vancouver or Victoria, the weather is usually mild and pleasant around the new year.

Edmonton has a huge event every New Years Eve that is just for families. :)

"New Year's Eve Downtown is Western Canada's largest New Year's celebration and is attended by approximately 40,000 each year. The evening is an alcohol-free event and features entertainment, strolling entertainers, public skating, a street dance, family activities and, of course, fireworks."
