I don't think you will do too well if you think Canada has "providences". The only one of those I know is in Rhode Island!

There are only ten "provinces" to remember, and so it really is not that tough. You also have three territories, but not sure if the teacher wants you to remember those too. Still, nothing compared to the US states...As a Canadian, we had to learn those too when I was younger, and there are 50 of those!

You just have to figure out the method that makes it easier foryou. Some people break it down by region (west/east/north), others by the shapes, others by the alphabet.

I liked to remember them by the post office codes used for them:

AB = Alberta
BC = British Columbia
MB = Manitoba
NM = New Brunswick
NL = Newfoundland (& Labrador)
NS = Nova Scotia
ON = Ontario
PE = Prince Edward Island
QC = Quebec
SK = Saskatchewan

And the territories:

NT = Northwest Territories
NU = Nunavut
YT = Yukon Territory

By first understanding that Canada has provinces, not providences. If you try to Google "providence" with the hope of getting information on Canada's provinces, you won't get very far.

.
Canada doesn't have any providences, sorry wrong country...

Look at a map...then keep looking at it...then look at it some more.

I always just went from left to right... remembering their shapes somehow helped me. BC is like a boot and Manitoba is like a glove. and it helps to remember there are 10 provinces and 3 territories. If you don't even have to place them on a map it's that much easier.

Study a map! http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

J'aime la natation!
1. Learn how to spell provinces
2. Look at a map
3. Memorize
4. Look at a blank map and fill it in

The way to remember the provinces is to pray to the Holy Providence!

Otherwise, just study them from a map.

Well, usually when I try to learn something I associate the words I have to remember with familiar, easy to remember words. It should be easy because the provinces of Canada are not so many. Good luck with it anyway ! :) I hope you'll get a good grade tomorrow.

How hard can it be to remember 13 names? Try by shape like the other user suggested, or alphabetically. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to memorize 13 names, unless you have a learning disability.
