What is a tiny town in Canada that's normally rainy and dark?

Does anyone know of a city/town that's

-dark
-damp
-gray
-depressing

It's for a story, so the more drab the town the better. And if you could, please provide a website and/or site I could information for it from.

Also, I would absolutely l-o-v-e it if you could provide a town in the continental US that is also down and depressing and damp.

But I really just need a place like this from Canada.

Thank You ☺

You could also look at northern canada. The terrain can be very ugly. Rocky ground, cold. You could easily set a desolate scene in a lot of places up there. BC iscertainly quite rainy and dark, but it has a lot of beautiful landscape, flaura, and fauna. Eastern canada can be vary dreary. Watch "The SHiping News " for a little insite into that. Anyway, hope your story goes well. Cya

I don't know how tiny you are thinking of, but Prince Rupert, British Columbia is the wettest town in Canada.

Pick someplace on the north or west portions of Vancouver Island. They're pretty much dark and wet all winter, and none of them are very big. Ucluelet, Tofino, Zeballos, Gold River, Port Hardy. Of course, if you find websites for those places they aren't going to tell you how wet it gets in winter, but it really does. Prince Rupert definitely qualifies too on the rainy part but it isn't what I'd call tiny. I spent 3 days there in February and I don't think it stopped raining once the whole time.

Watch the movie Margaret's Museum starring Helena Bonham Carter. It's about Cape Breton coal miners and I'm sure it'll give you ideas.

If you like fog come to St. John's Newfoundland

got to agree, anywhere on the northern end of vancouver island or north mainland coast of BC fits the bill.... in december it doesnt lighten until 8 or 9 and dark again by 3:30 in afternoon, rains almost everyday in winter... moss grows very thick.... can be depressing if not acclimatized for sure!

In the US .... pacific northwest on the oregon coast would have the wettest, grayest days or the panhandle of alaska
