Try the Queen Charlotte Islands in BC, it has a good natural look and is far away from a city like environment. There are many beaches and places such as "balance rock" which are natural yet interesting ^_^

The border, for sure. There you can see lots of cool characters to draw. Like the guy getting busted for sneaking Viagra into the US. Or the woman with TB coughing all over the agents. Or the huskies pulling a broken down Skidoo. Yeah, lots of things to draw.
