What is it like in Canada? |
I've always wanted to live there!
My best friend is from Canada and she told me that it is so much better than America.
I kinda agree because America has gas problems, health care problems, and a lot of other stuff. I just really don't like how our country is right now. I feel like nothing is happy here anymore.
I'm 15 years old and when I'm finished with school, I want to move to Canada with my mom, dad, and brother.
So what is canada like? What are the people like? Do they have good jobs there? What is the weather like? Are there any issues there? TELL ME EVERYTHING! :D |

I am an American who moved to Canada three years ago. I love it. Canada is not perfect. We have issues with finding jobs, and the weather is generally cooler than in the US. The one quality I love most about Canada is the people. In the US, we go by the 'melting pot' theory where everyone is supposed to try to be similar - all melt together. Here individualism and culture is prized. People here have a lot more 'live and let live' attitude. Not to show my age, but I have two teenage kids, and they love it too. We also lived in New Zealand and the whole family far prefers Canada.
As for the weather, we live on the west coast and its the part of Canada with the least amount of change in weather. (mild wiinters and mild summers). It depends on what you are used to. If you live where the winters are very snowy and like that then eastern Canada is similar. If you like hot dry summers and cold dry winters, central Canada (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba) are good places. Most of the people in Canada live within 100 miles of the US border. There are a lot less people here as well. Most people live in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, Canada is a huge country with lots of different cultures, weather, peoples, and history.
Hope this helps. Its a good idea to come and visit if you think you'd like to move here someday. |

Love these types of questions :) I am Canadian and have been for my whole life. I live about an hour from Toronto. I have been to many places, but I love Canada. People are like "Oh, you guys live un igloo's!". Well we obviously do not. Yes, we say "eh" a lot. The people are very polite, and the country is overall great. Going to Ottawa on Canada Day is so beautiful, and in BC in the winter, and Alberta in the summer. In my opinion, the most beautiful place on the face of the earth is right here in Canada. You can stay within the country but see such a wide variety of different scenery, cultures and climate. Ontario is generally warm, but it is Canada, so it can get pretty cold here. Canada is awsome, living here is really an honour, and I am proud to be Canadian. |

really hard to tell you. I would suggest you make a few trips up here, see all provinces and make up your mind, where you would like to relocate to.
there are differences between east and west - we're as large a land mass as the USA (or perhaps a bit larger?).
first of all, where do you live now? this would tell us where you may want to go in our country. city or rural, small town or one of the large cities? climate desired? -- there's lots to think about, so come up and see for yourself. then read a lot about us - the web is full of info.
and don't forget, we too have problems; but I agree, I prefer it here as well -:), and I have travelled the US extensively ( and you do have some lovely places!!)
good luck |

The people aree nice, its a multicultural soceity there isnt as high as a crime rate here then over there. The health care system isnt number one of them all but its free and is better then americas (WATCH SICKO). They have good jobs here. Yeah sure theres going to be issues everywhere.
But if you can stand the issues in America then you definetly can stand Canada's small ones. Were also not in millions or iunno was it billions of dollars in debt.
and yeah the schools are good here and such.
I AM PROUD TO BE A CANADIAN.
and if you can when your done school i recommend that you should. =] |

Good idea!! The only problem with my answer is that I'm Canadian and was born and live in Alberta, but I've never been anywhere else, so I can't really compare it to other places, but Alberta is a really great place to live!
It has a lot of prairies, lakes, mountains, forests, hills...it basically has everything for scenery! It also isn't as heavily populated as, say, Ontario or Quebec, but! We have west Edmonton mall, which is the biggest in the world...hehe....ANYWAYS. (oh, and Calgary has a big stampede rodeo every year)
We can have hot summers, cold DRY winters, but, dry snow is the most beautiful because often it crystallizes into pretty flakes you can catch on your tongue. Aaaand pretty good schools too.
Hope I helped a little. :D |
