- la monnaie (la mon-nay)
- des piasses (day pyass)
- des dollars (day dah-larr)
All of these are french terms in Quebec for money. Quebec uses the Canadian currency (at least until we separate!) so it is the same names as the US currency....mostly.
COMMON COINS:
- penny
- nickel
- dime
- quarter
- dollar ("looney" because it has a picture of a loon on it)
- two dollar ("two-ney, as in "two looneys")
COMMON BILLS
- five dollar

- one hundred dollar
Prices are listed just as in US with a ($) sign, except Canadian dollars are shown internationally as CAD$.

Quebec uses the same currency as the rest of the country - dollars, quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies. But in Quebec they may refer to it in the french language (Quebec is a French-Canadian province) and call it l'argent. But it is no different than the money used in any other Canadian province.

Canadian Dollar - even if they have been talking about independance for a long time, Quebec is still a Canadian province.
