"Hi"...I'm Canadian......and contrary to what the others in here say it is not a Country nor Mountainous nor cold all the time and Nova Scotia is a part of the Atlantic Provinces .

The Atlantic provinces are the four provinces of Canada that lie along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and share a historical and cultural heritage: Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

The last three are also called the Maritime provinces. The Atlantic provinces cover an area of 540 300 km2, or about 5.5% of the land area of Canada. Although Quebec borders on Canada's Atlantic coast, it is not considered a Maritime province.

All the Atlantic provinces have a similar rugged landscape, with numerous bays and inlets along the coast. All except P.E.I. have forested upland areas. The island of P.E.I. is mostly flat, as is southeastern New Brunswick, the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, and the Saint John River valley of New Brunswick. Most of the area's agriculture is carried on in the lowlands.

Fishing, mining, and forestry are important in all four provinces. Agriculture is important in all but Newfoundland. Manufacturing is of growing importance, but does not play the large role in the economy that it does in Ontario or Quebec. The service industries are the most important part of the economy in the Atlantic provinces, making up one-third of the gross domestic product (the total value of goods and services). Many tourists come to the area, drawn by the beauty of the coast and the opportunities for recreation.

There are 4 definate seasons to the year , hot summers and a colorful cool fall where the Maple leafs turn red , winter is something else, cold and snow storms and "HEAVY" snow accumulation in certain areas and spring is warm just makes it all worthwhile .

As concerns Nova Scotia in particular , here ...fill your "goloshes" with info.....*S* (Has a lot of the info you want...excluding Acadia University )

Nova Scotia is a great place. It's situated between the Bay of Fundy/Northumberland Strait and the Atlantic Ocean. Its home to Halifax, the best city on Earth. Everyone in Nova Scotia is friendly. They wave to you as you drive by. They'll help you with anything.
Cape Breton in northern Nova Scotia is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Camping at Broad Cove or Ingonish Beach (within 5 miles of each other) in Cape Breton Highlands National Park is great. Ingonish and Broad Cove beaches are magnificent. You'll love it.
