that is definitley an impossible question to answet...what is the american personality?
but in common, canadians are very nice, polite, traditional, sarcastic sense of humour, we make fun of ourselves a lot, we make the best out of everything having to live in our weather situation, haha.
As for lifestyle, different for everyone...other than the love of hockey, that's almost mutual across the board.

Canadians say "sorry" a lot, even to strangers for the smallest thing like slightly bumping into them on a busy street. We're all pretty polite to each other. Canadians generally love life and like to have fun. We're insanely proud of being Canadian, and when travelling almost always have a Canadian flag pin or patch on a bag with us.

We try to be tolerant of the differences in each other no matter how big those differences are.

We recognize that our army is small yet we know that our troops are the best trained in the world. Most are pretty proud that in 1812 (when America tried to take over Canada) we burned down the white house. There is definitely a Canada verses America outlook.

There is a sort of trend in Canada to hate on Toronto. There's a movie about it and several songs. It's not that Toronto is bad or anything, it's not..it's just..it's Toronto.

We love humour. Sarcasm is huge here.

We are extremely polite and friendly. Most other countries love us, because they expect us to be like Americans...and are pleasantly surprised when they learn we are not! ...and we say 'eh'....not 'ay.'

Well, we're all exactly like Don Cherry. We're loud and wear loud suits with bad ties, even the women. Everyone goes to a hockey game at least once a week, lives on timbits and flies into a tearful rage if you mention igloos. We are also meek and polite and very loving to people of other nationalities, except Americans. We like to carry Canadian flags and hand out samples of maple syrup.

agrin1369
polite, friendly, hating on america, most of us live under the delusion that we're living in the best place in the world.
sarcastic ...

Depends where Canadians are from. Just like an American from Mississippi won't be the same as one from Illinois. I think Canadians do have a few common denominators like being moderate and overly polite.

There's no such thing as the Canadian personality. We are all so vastly different. Even people residing in the same town. The only common thing that unites us is that we are Canadian.
As for lifestyles, that is another thing that differs from area to area. I grew up in the city. It was a fast paced lifestyle, where everyone was always coming and going, never a moments rest. Now I live in the North. Smaller city, more focus on outdoor activities. Slower paced, which I am enjoying immensely.

Mild Indifference

Vacuous politeness, drinking.

Canadians like to complain about the weather, the government, the taxes, their job. I don't think Canadians enjoy life all that much to be honest!!! Lifestyle is work focussed, then family.

It is a very diversely populated country that is accepting and welcoming to other cultures - these cultures tend to rub off on everyone, so we are basically a mixed bag when it comes to personality and lifestyle,
