Hi you should first ask your friend what city and province he/she lives in that match up your are code. First dial 001 than the area code.
Hope this helps

That depends on where in Canada your friend lives. Canada is larger than the US and has many area codes.

That's like asking what the area code is for the USA. Canada and the USA share the same country code. If you were to call from Chicago to Ottawa you'd just dial as if you were calling from Chicago to New York.

SaskAries
Dial 1 - Area Code and then 7 digit phone number

so it would be 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx

When I am in the US and I call home I dial 1-306-xxx-xxxx

306 is my area code in Saskatchewan so where ever your friend lives you would use their area code.

Kilty
001 is the country code
area code depends where you are calling (416) Toronto (905) GTA
then the 7 digits are the person's phone number

For calls from the US you don't need the country code--just dial 1-area code-phone number

Iceman
When I call from Norway to Canada I have to include the following:

001 902

Not sure if its the same from the US

Maysan
001 604 for BC
001 780 for Edmonton AB
001 403 for Calgary AB
001 514 for Montreal QC
