What is the best way to get from Vancouver Airport to Whistler late at night?

The last shuttle I could find runs at 10pm which is to late.

Originally I had scheduled to ride Perimeter Transportation, but they went out of business last week. Now I am arriving to whistler at 10:45 pm on December 26th with no way to get to whistler. Should I take a cab for $240?

"Hi".....Pacific Coach lines (PCL) has now taken over that route. You can contact them them here........
http://www.pacificcoach.com/
*NOTE*.......If I am reading their sked correctly it looks as if their last departure from YVR to Whistler is 11.00 PM...you have to call and perhaps they'll wait a few minutes for you!

Also Greyhound leaves from the terminal in the downtown area on Main and Hastings ( Bus Depot) and here's their site ....

From Vancouver Airport you can get downtown by using the "Airporter" which is a shuttle service for $12.00 and what I am suggesting is that you stay a few hours at the YMCA and then hustle over to the Bus terminal and either get Greyhound or PCL and head to Whistler real early in the morning as both leave from the Bus depot !

Here's the "Airporter" service.....

Heres the YMCA.......

Just my" considered opinion" as I live in Vancouver and have travelled the "Sea to Sky" many times but ,going to Whistler in a cab with someone you're not sure of as concerns their driving skills , at night and on that road is folly ...period !

Hope that helps ya and a "Merry Christmas"! *S* (Michael C...)

Wow, no, I wouldn't do that, not for that price, not in winter and at night. The road is good but no place for someone who maybe hasn't driven it before, especially now that we have snow at sea level. If there's fresh snow or snow packed on the road, it could be a long ride, too. Do you really want to get into Whistler at 2 am or later? If your flight is supposed to get in at 10:45, you'll never make an 11 pm shuttle anyway. I'd take the Airporter downtown, get a hotel there and get the shuttle in the morning from downtown. Much more relaxed. The hotel may not be cheap but it sure doesn't have to be $240. Many downtown hotels will have easy access to the Whistler bus, and besides, then you get to see the scenery on the way up. It's pretty. Sit on the left.

you stay in a hotel and go in the morning.

just.. don't drive on that highway at night, especially with a cab driver. if he happens to be a bad driver you may end up taking a swim in the ocean via falling off a cliff.

Dead Day Afternoon
Why not stay in Vancouver until the morning and then rent a car or take a bus? Seems safer.

Maybe???
There is NO Greyhound busdepot at Main & Hastings.
The Greyhound busdepot is at Pacific Central Station, one block over from Main Street at Terminal Ave.
The last one leaves at 7pm.
Best way would be to take a taxi to an airport hotel, stay there overnight, and make your trip the next day.
Also. Pacific Coach Lines does NOT go to Whistler.

If it wasn't for all the snow we're having lately, I'd say the cab (or limo) would be ok. BUT, with the snowy and icy road conditions, I'd suggest you spend the night in Vancouver and then get a ride up to Whistler during daytime on Dec 27. It's much safer that way.
