What is the driving time from Calgary to Lake louise and can I take bus there?

As others have said, the driving time from Calgary to Lake Louise is 2.5 to 3 hours and it is a very scenic and easy drive to make on the TransCanada Highway.

Another option for the bus (besides Greyhound) is Sundog Tours - they offer a daily shuttle www.sundogtours.com

Not sure if you just want to go for the day, or stay a few days. If you just want to go for the day, there are also companies that offer a day long tour from Calgary to Lake Louise. Check out Travel Alberta's website www.travelalberta.com for more information.

it's only about 2 hours and you can take the greyhound there.

Kiachiquita
It is 1 hour and 45 minutes. Based on the 100 or so times I have driven it. That is based on 10km's above speed limit.

To break it down for you:
It's 45 minutes from Calgary to Canmore, 15 minutes from Canmore to Banff, 45 minutes from Banff to Lake Louise.

Don't go by mapquest time frame, it is factoring driving from DT Calgary to DT Lake Louise.

The greyhound (bus) will take longer due to the stops it makes. It would take about 3 hours.

It'll take you around 1 1/2 -2 hrs to drive to Lake Louise from Calgary and yes there is bus service via Greyhound.

depends on how fast you drive!!!! and if your going to stop when you see that flashing blue light speeding up behind you!!!!lol.

2.5 - 3 hours if you're a normal driver. 2 hours if you're crazy.
Much longer if you hit a moose (because they have long spindly legs which means their (very large) body is at windshield height and will end up in your lap - not on the road.
Yes you can take Greyhound and other bus lines from downtown Calgary. Actually, a bus is a really good idea if you're a first time visitor because you can take lots of pictures on the way instead of worrying about hitting a moose.

2 to 3 hours.
avoid bus: you'd get there but then you're stranded!

MnM
Never take the bus anywhere if its long distance.
