Those video cameras at the Customs stops run the plates automatically. I've found the Canadian Customs agents to be almost all much more pleasant to deal with than the U.S. agents when returning.
Of course, I generally find Canadian people more pleasant. |

None of them... Especially if they require you to have a passport to travel to/from Canada.
When I cross over to Canada up at the border in Niagra Falls, they were really nice to me. Coming back into the states, man they were ruthless. |

There isn't one that's better than the other. It's all a crap-shoot when dealing with Canada Border Services Agency. If they see something they don't like or you say something that makes them suspicious they'll run you, and it all depends on the border agent you get. |

I've never had any problem crossing the border from the US into Canada, although some have longer lines than others. Coming back into the US however is more painful than a root canal. |

Take your boat from Mich to Canada, No hassles at all. Or drive across the ice in the winter. People do it all the time. |

Every plate that crosses the border gets run coming in and going back. Even if you don;t get asked too much they always run that plate. Sounds like you need to stay at home. |
