The transport system is pretty good - the subway runs pretty well throughout the city and the bus system is good too.
In my opinion, it's a good service and fairly reliable. |

I'd say its not very good at all!
A big city like Toronto should have a web of subway lines, instead Toronto only has like 4 long lines! The subway doesn't even go to the airport or York U! |

I take the TTC everyday, which is Toronto's main transit system (subway, buses). I take it from the suburbs of Toronto right into downtown. It takes me about 40 minutes and I think it runs pretty smoothly for the most part. Living in a big city like Toronto there is bound to be hold ups but they deal with it pretty well. Rush hour is very busy though, give yourself time. We also have the GO trains which run from cities surrounding Toronto connecting into Toronto and other cities. |

the system is called TTC
http://www3.ttc.ca/
I don't like their website cuz they don't have a trip planner like Translink BC does. I am from Vancouver and the transit system is translink. I just need to type in where I want to go in the trip planner and it will tell me how I can get there, providing detailed information that I need, like what bus/seabus/skytrain I should take, the route map, and the total travel time)
now I live in Waterloo and sometimes I go to Toronto.
other than that. it's pretty good. (I like it's subway, instead of Vancouver's Skytrain., Which goes above the ground but sometimes goes under. it's so ugly and slow. Toronto's subway is much better.) the buses are pretty the same. |

Good or bad compared to what?
Rush hour traffic is bad. The subway/bus system will get you close to anywhere you want to go. |

The TTC. In rush hour it can be your worst nightmare. Often overcrowded, too hold or too cold and stinky. You really do want to avoid the subway around 8 in the morning and 5 in the evening.
However most of the time the TTC is a cheap, fast and efficient way to get around the city. |

In comparaison to which city.
I'd say the subway is good, the viva system which connects surrounding suburbs is world class. The buses arent run down or nothing but they can be unreliable especially in winter.
Its real hard to say, I have travelled many places but it depends where you want to compare to. Some routes have buses that come every 2 minutes like in lower income areas that you proabblywon't want to visit unless your younger.
For example, don't take the bus on younge street because they come like 2 an hour because it is on the same street as a subway.
Comapred to europe, id' say it is ok but not great. The buses in general aren't great |
