What is there to do in Canada??

My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Canada in around November time. We're both 22 and want to be in an area that has more of a social life. I was considering Toronto or Vancouver, but don't know anything about both places.

If I could get a few suggestions on where to go, what to do, when to go, etc. would be great!!!

Thanks!!!

Hi, well your in luck, I have lived in Vancouver for 5 years and am currently living in Toronto =P. So if you want to interact with people and socialize then you are going to want to go to Toronto. This city is made up of tons of other cities to go visit and it has an amazing night life. There are many things to see here in Toronto but I am warning you if you come around November you may just be catching the cold air. So then that brings me to Vancouver, it is the most beautiful city in the world and is very romantic. It has an amazing social scene as well, the weather in november is still good but may rain frequently. Overall I recommend Vancouver because it has a good nightlife, very beautiful scenery and there are many things to go see there, like the mountains, trails, science centre, downtown, white rock... In Toronto there are amazing clubs such as the guvernment and there is the cn tower and the downtown is amazing, there are lots of art shows and things as well. When in toronto you c ould also go visit the other cities near by and you will experience a very multi-cultural time. BUTTT i recommend vancouver =)

Toronto to Vancouver is about the same distance as Buffalo to Seattle. The time factor if you are driving would make a difference, and the weather/roads in November can be crappy.

I prefer Vancouver to Toronto, it is far prettier, but I am probably biased as I'm from BC.

Niagara Falls is just over an hour's drive from Toronto. You go around Lake Ontario. I recommend going in early summer or early fall (avoid the summer vacation rush).

And at Niagara Falls, there are casinos, you can go on a boat near the Falls, or in a tunnel under the Falls! On the outskirts of Niagara Falls (Ontario) is Marineland, which is great... pay an extra $8 and you can feed and pet a beluga whale. Check out the link below to see my YouTube video of three days at the Falls.

Enjoy!

i live in toronto
and it is awesome, there is so much to do
there are endless amounts of restaurants and clubs that you can hit up
theres the CN tower (which if you decide to go, theres the beautiful 360 restaurant at the very top where u can eat - although its a bit more on the expensive side)
there are comedy clubs, and broadway shows, sight seeing programs
there are also plenty of shops on queen street

if you're not just staying downtown toronto, i highly recommend clifton hill in niagara falls, as there are nightclubs, restaurants, wax museums, haunted houses, fun houses, etc. its pretty much a street full of tourist attractions

Hmm...Toronto is definitly a lot bigger, I myself am from Vancouver Island - so I'd say "Come to Victoria!!" But there is plenty of 'night life' and what not in both the cities you mentioned.

What is there to do in Canada? I have to say it sounds as if you think my country is a barren wasteland with nothing but snow and igloos - there is tons to do! It's pretty well exactly the same as America (I assume you're from there) except we're bilingual and our spelling is....original.

Here are some sites for things to do in Toronto, I've never been to that side of the country, myself....

You could also venture over to Ottawa or Montréal while there. Best time to go would likely be summer or spring...right now is the 400th anniversary of Quebec and that's going to very big all summer long...that would be an experience to remember if you had the time.

Now for Vancouver....

I'd totally suggest taking a day to come over to my island and visiting the capital of British Columbia! Right now it's getting reaallly hot, almost 30℃!, and the city is lovely this time of year. Right now we have the Tall Ships in, it's like Pirates of the Car. all over again, and there are plenty of things to do in town and outside of it in the forest etc.

Cheers!

Toronto can get cold in November but the worst months are December and January i'd say. Don't really think life stops because of the cold.We still go out clubbing, skating, sport events, concerts, doing pretty much everything.

Hey, I'm a Canadian and I can say that there is some pretty exciting stuff going on in Toronto. Toronto has alot of neat shops and wicked food. Unfortunately, the smog is potent. Avril Lavigne is coming to Toronto on August 8th, there is the Hockey hall of Fame. Overall, Toronto is a more city with plenty of bars and clubs. Vancouver has a very damp climate (I mean lots of rain). Vancouver recieves the most rain in Canada which is the source of many suicides. If you are looking to party, Toronto is your best bet.

I hope I helped!

Vancouver has the most gaybars.
