Your english leaves to be desired as well.
Montreal has a large english population and a lot of business is still conducted in English.
You would pick up the french as you went along and get to know a city that is vibrant, can be fun, and very safe considering it's size.
For CHRIS ... Montreal is a city in the province of Quebec. It's not a country. What's wrong with French anyway? It shouldn't make any difference to you, you can't speak English anyway. You have a yahoo attitude that probably made the french people of montreal give you a hard time. |

sure, I think there are plenty of anglos in Montreal, from what I remember.....there has to be to suit the tourists...I could be wrong though, it's been a while. I have friends from there and they say it's not all entirely French speaking. |

Completely worth it, but it depends on what you plan on doing on Montreal (occupation wise). Montreal is beautiful, the culture is fantastic, and you'll never be bored.
It is very easy to get by in Montreal if you don't speak French! Trust me, it's very do-able. But I would suggest learning French just because it's so useful and you'll feel more learn-ed. |

chris--- completely ignorant. ontarians should be ashamed to have someone like you living in their province.
anyways, sure its worth while. I know people who don't know a word of french and still like it there. besides, you can pick up a little as you go.
also, montreal is a very vibrant city, the nightlife is the best in canada and there's lots to do. so if you're a person that goes out a lot you'll definately get a good taste of fun montreal style. if not theres other things you can do such as museums, etc. |

Not really I live close to Montreal and I don't go there. When I travel for business I go throuth Toronto rather than have to deal with Montreal. A friend of mine worked for a large company in Quebec and he had to change the language on his laptop because Quebec law dictates that companys over a certian size must do business in French.
If you are going on your own then I'd say forget it unless you speak French VERY well, if it is a company transfer then maybe if it is for more money. Perhaps try Ottawa to see if you want to go in the direction of Quebec. |
