What major american cities are close to the canadian border?

The Mrs.
As far as major American cities all you really have is Detroit, Michigan that is right next to the border.

Seattle is a roughly 3 hours from Vancouver. You go through Blaine, Washington or Sumas, Washington to get there (depending if you cross near White Rock, BC or Abbotsford, BC). Its a lot closer then New York anyway. I have driven to both.

Buffalo is a decent size, but I wouldn't call it a major American city. New York is a fair distance away from the border. Your talking a good 6 hour drive.

Check out Google Earth . .its a free download and you can find all the major American cities near the border until your hearts content =)

Detroit, Michigan (across from Windsor, Ontario - the only thing separating them is the Detroit River)

Seattle, Washington (not too far from British Columbia)

Buffalo, New York (near Niagara Falls, Ontario)

The ones in the NORTH of the US. Get a map....look for the cities that have BIG LETTERING on the NORTH part of the US. That would be UP, if you are looking at the letters correctly. If they are upside down, turn the map around.

(And, no...New York is NOT close to the border!)

I think Seattle is. My Cousin from Vancouver likes going on roadtrips to Seattle so I guess it is pretty near.

Dead Day Afternoon
Detroit, Buffalo and Seattle all come to mind.
