I am originally from Canada! I just wanted to know whats the best map to use to go to Canada! MAP-Quest is nothing but a night-mare so please don't suggest that! Well if you've got the answer to this I'll be happy! Thanks

I have used most of the map websites, and they all can do the job to some degree, but I have found that there is no substitute for having a good atlas AND a good area map of the places you want to visit. It is easier to plot your route when seeing the choices. The map sites merely point you the most heavily travelled routes, primary roads, etc.

This is one time that I would say, go the old fashioned way ... you can get an Atlas of North America for under $10 at Walmart, and you can get large folding area, country or provincial maps for $4-$10 at most bookstores and dept. stores.

We often plot a route on mapquest or the like, THEN go to the paper maps, and look at the alternatives, and go from there.

For maps, you might try GetEarthFree.com/maps.

Yahoo also has good driving directions: http://ca.maps.yahoo.com/

It also depends on where you wish to go, but you might find these sites useful as they describe various Canadian destinations very well:

Hope this helps:)

Bookyards has a directory of about 40 sites that specialize on maps and atlases. The link is at http://www.bookyards.com/search_results.html?type=links&category_id=634

Bookyards is a free online library and education portal at http://www.bookyards.com

I found that Google Maps was the easiest to use and also the most accurate for me.

Here's an example. Near my home, the city built a new street with a housing development in there last year. The street is not showing on Yahoo! Maps, but it is showing on MapQuest and Google Maps.

I had been using Google over Mapquest in the past because you can tug on the map in the pane and move the map to show neighboring areas. On Yahoo! Maps, you have to click on little arrows all around the map to make it move. (Now Mapquest offers this tugging feature too, but it is just simpler to get to Google from the link on my task bar.)

Well, that isn't really a very easy one to answer because you don't say where you are coming from. I don't have a problem with Mapquest. You might try Google on the internet or go to the library and actually look at an atlas.

Trailmarkers
