Vancouver is in British Columbia, Canada.

BC is the nickname.

BC is one of 10 provinces in Canada. There are also 3 territories.

Providence is God's will.

I guess it was God's will to put Vancouver in BC.

There's also a Vancouver, USA. It's in Washington state, just across the river from Portland, Oregon. It was an old HBC fort.

The HBC is the Hudson Bay Company, which started as trading posts between Brits and Indians. Now "The Bay" is Canada's largest department store chain. The chain is actually older than the country.

Vancouver was a British captain who came to the area and surveyed it.

Well, I would not say divine providence however if you mean province you will find Vancouver, the thrid largest city in Canada, located on the West Coast of Canada in the Province of British Columbia. Vancouver is the largest city in British Columbia and the largest sea port.

Angel

Vancouver is in the PROVINCE of British Columbia (BC/B.C.). The first answer was partly right - it's located in the south WESTERN part of BC....eastern shisssh. Oh, there is also a Vancouver in the US it is located in Clark County, Washington on the north bank of the Columbia River. Both cities are named after Captain George Vancouver. The Vancouver in the States is about 30 years older than the one in Canada.
