What sort of inexpensive things can I do in Toronto? |
My husband and I are going to toronto for a quick 36 hour getaway from Rochester and don't have a lot of money to spend plus I'm about 6 months pregnant so I can't really do a lot of physical activity. I figure we can spend 100 on entertainment. Anybody have any ideas of things we can do that will make 100$ last 36 hours in Toronto? |

In addition to the things mentioned, take a stroll through the Distillery District, Kensington Market, China Town, and the St. Lawrence Market. Even if you don't buy anything there is lots to see. Have fun. |

Go to Yonge Street (longest street in the world) Eaton Center and CN Tower and don't forget to stop at Tim Horton's for a freshly brewed cup of coffee :) |

Visiting the CN Tower is relatively inexpensive (about $20 or less per person) and amazing, you can see the entire city from up there. There's also the Hockey Hall of Fame, Casa Loma, and the Harbourfront. The Toronto Zoo is a little out of the way, but it's also great. |

Ya. CN tower is a good choice. Although I doubt the entrance fee is cheap. I lived an hour from the CN tower for about 4 years, and I could never afford to go up there in terms of time or money (not sure how much it costs).
Lakeshore is a nice place too. At this time of the year it is a beautiful place to pass your evening with your husband, and the soon to be born baby.
I don't know if you are a science junkie, but the Ontario Science Center is an interesting place to visit. Also, the entrance fee is within reach of most people. |

Yes, I agree with the last answer, take a cruise down Young Street for some great sight seeing & entertainment (you may even see a USA movie being made with famous actors, I have) and hit a nice little deli or cafe for lunch |

Well, I live in a suburb about 20 to 45 minutes away from Toronto, so here are some ideas:
-Eaton's Centre (Even if it's just to look around, it's a nice mall :))
-The ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) Probably a little costly but VERY interesting
-Hockey Hall of Fame
-Batta Shoe Museum (Very cool place!)
-CN Tower is always a must!
-My favourite restaurant in Toronto is called The Spaghetti Factory and serves italian food; you should check it out if you get a chance!
-Queen street (There are awesome indie stores and TV studios and stuff that you can see...basically the arts district of Toronto) |
