Enjoy the Falls. Avoid the tourist traps and go see a winery and Niagara on the Lake. The Butterfly Conservatory is really cool too. It will be mid 20s or warmer (70s to 80s F)during August. Welcome to Canada!

Lol what kind of question is that? Niagara Falls is not way out in the wilderness hundreds of kilometers from any store.
Where you'd see Niagara Falls in Canada is about 100 meters from the United States. Right above you is tons of hotels, a casino, a million gift shops etc. etc.
If you pictured some beautiful wilderness scene, you might be disappointed. Niagara Falls is the definition of a ideal nature scene turned into a commercialized, urban money maker.
You don't even have to go to Canada to see Niagara Falls, it stradles the border.
Local bars run by Hell's Angels? Lol where did you read that. The Hell's Angels are getting their clubhouses raided all the time here, they're certainly not some huge mafia scale force that runs towns.

You don't need bug repellent in Niagara Falls thanks to the fact that the smog drifts in from Pennsylvania.
Bring comfortable shoes, light clothing, perhaps a sweater for evening and a wad o' cash. You can't go wrong if you have a wad o' cash.
Avoid local bars as most are run by Hells Angels.
