Spent that day getting to and from airports and flying from Boston to Calgary. It was fabulous. No line ups at the Logan. I was one of 7 passengers with more stews and stewards than clients. Ground staff prayed for us fools who flew in the face of instant annihilation. (Americans are such goofuses!) On board -Talk about great service. Extra peanuts too! Spent the entire trip talking to fellow passengers and our great luck at not being packed in like sardines - a first in Air Flight history. That was the first leg of the trip.
Toronto to Calgary was a whole different story. Line ups at Lester B Pearon. Almost a full plane. No prayers. No extra peanuts. Just business as usual. Had to go through the usual tedious wait for a cab at the airport and then slip slide all the way home.
Changed clothes and grabbed a cab to a party which was like any other New Years Party - boring. People drinking too much and acting like idiots. ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |

I was at work. I was the Chef in a restaurant in Niagara Falls back then.......I finished work hours earlier, but stuck around to watch the fireworks and have some drinks with co-workers. Then we walked on down to the Parks, and watched the bands playing, although for the life of me, I cannot recall who was on. I do remember having to have a tourists car towed as they parked in our private lot, blocking myself and a few others in......took me two hours to drive a usual ten minute drive home in all the traffic. I had to back at work for 9 am the next morning, I should have just slept there, in a corner............. |

Well I was in Victoria, B.C. and I can tell you that there were a lot of people on drugs that night, and several backpacks were left behind on the public bus. I really don't think all Canadians celebrated the same way. It was peaceful. We were worried that the world would grind to a halt at midnight because of Y2K and there would be rioting on the streets, but there wasn't, so we were happy. Personally I just spent the evening with a friend making up songs. In reality we do not generally see fireworks blending into northern lights here, or eat poutine constantly. I ate it once and it took three days to digest. |

Spent the night with "Jack" and a few friends waiting 12:00 and for Y2K to carry us to the RAPTURE. That was a BUST! so we we all went to a local bar and partied to sun-up. |
