"Mon Pays", by Gilles Vigneault

It's written in French and many Quebec separatists and many English Canadians believe that the country (pays - pronounced pay-EE) Vigneault refers to is supposed to be Quebec. But, he is a Canadian citizen and the song was commissioned by The National Film board of Canada.

Besides, any song that says

has to be about Canada!

I dont know if this would work but there is a song by Gordon Lightfoot(he is Canadian) called Canadian Railroad Trilogy and it talks about the country and stuff. Good Luck with your project! I hate projects :)

Several other people mentioned it - but Gordon Lightfoot's Canadian Railroad Trilogy. Not only does he include all of Canada, plus a huge part of our history in the song, but Gordon Lightfood himself is a national treasure. His songs have been recorded by a variety of artists from various genres.
