It varies in different parts of Canada. But in Ontario, it's summer. It is absolutely beautiful - there's not too much humidity and it's nice and warm. During the spring, there's a tendency to rain almost every day. Winter is lovely, because you get to see a real white Christmas, but you've pointed out that you aren't interested in Winter. Fall is second to summer - you get to see all the leaves changing colours and such.

Anyway, summer is the best, I'd say.

Canada is a huge country and the temperature variations reflect this. Nonetheless, anytime between June and October for most of Canada, though July and August can be hot (80's F; 30's C) in the southern parts of the provinces. June to September for the Rocky Mountain provinces.

It's a country that spans the width of a continent.... so it goes without saying the country has lots of different geographies... so you may want to consider a specific area.. then we could probably answer this more appropriatley.

If you were to say...

"What's the best time of year to visit the North"
"what's the best time of year to visit mainland BC".
etc.

that's like me saying
"what's the best time of year to visit the USA?"

See how this question doesnt' make much sense? Same really applies to Canada.

Well that depends, do you like cool weather and great scenary? do you enjoy skiing or snowboarding? Do you love the heat? If you like cooler weather come either are around march to June, or September to november. If you enjoy Skiing and Snowboarding go from November to March, or heat, come between June and September (it can get REALLY hot) its reached 34 C here once before and as low as 35 C in the winter before

I lived in Central Ontario, the hottest day in Canadian history was 42 C.

Its not all that different from the states usually, and it depends on where your going.

I like to go in the fall when the leaves are changing. It is beautiful any time though!

If best to go in the summer months for most places in canada. in the summer there are more things to do example, amusement parks, sightseeing, water parks, exhibitions, etc.
