Whats the difference between a province and a territory?

One main difference is actually in population - the territories are huge, by far the greatest geographical part of Canada, but are very sparsely populated. They each have their own territorial (like provincial) governments, but they rely more heavily on the federal government, and do not have as much power as provincial governments, though changes are happening. Each territory elects just one member of parliament to sit federally. Territories are created by federal law. Each territory has its own legislative assembly and premier. Here is a link that may help you.

Provinces have jurisdiction over education and the environment.Territories on the other hand are created by Federal Law.That means the territories have a bit less power than the provinces. They still have representation in the federal government, but don't have provincial governments.
The biggest difference is that the provinces get to vote on changes to the constitution but the territories do not.

Mr. Taco
A province has more self-rule than a territory.

No big difference really..
The three territories (Yukon, Nunavut and Nort-West Territories) are really north. (like where 'Santa' is from :p) The summers are extremely short, and provinces have four seasons.
