Well, you could, of course, hitch ride but probably your best bet will be the Greyhound bus.

Greyhound.ca

Next to driving, the Greyhound Bus it the cheapest. You can also take the Red Arrow bus - it's more upscale - snacks and beverages along with music and movies included into the ticket price along with comfortable leather seats. It doesn't pay to fly even with Westjet because it cost a lot to get to and from the airports first (Edmonton %59 cab or $15 Shuttle bus) and then you still have pay for the nav fee, airport improvement fee, etc on top of the basic ticket price making it a pretty expensive one way ticket.. Red Arrow's cost is approx $115 one way depending on whether you're any adult, student or senior and the Greyhound is cheaper yet.

The best price I have seen is west jet at $69.00 , but cheaper yet is Greyhound

I would think that driving would be the cheapest way!! If you can't drive, probably the bus.

you can go to craigslist.com click on Canada, Edmonton, or Calgary. Go under platonic relationships and post that you are looking for a ride to Calgary, from Edmonton. Or you could post it under Wanted. I see alot of those type adds on there.
