Sunset is currently 9:20. Victoria is pretty far south (stays light the further north you go in the summer) and pretty far West in the time zone. (dark about an hour earlier than the Eastern part of the time zone)

you must be new to victoria then.
during summer victoria has daylight saving, which means that the clocks are adjusted backwards by one hour. this means that on the longest day of the year it starts to get dark at around 9.30. throughout summer, which is classified as finishing at the end of february, it never gets dark before about 9.00
