When is the best time to visit Quebec?

What time of year? Like months and so on, I was thinking of visiting Quebec City, Montreal and Trois-Rivieres.

Montreal or Quebec city during the winter holiday season (christmas, new years day).
Old Montreal or the old part of Quebec city, it looks like Europe.
Skip Trois-Rivieres, there's not much to see there.

christmas. (or sometime around winter). if you're lucky and it snows, you'll think you were in a fairy tale (montreal esp)

*edit: have the poutine

I agree with the Christmas time answer. Very beautiful in both Quebec City and Montreal. Trois Rivieres on the other hand.....nothing exciting.

If you don't mind heat & humidity, I'd say come in the summer for the Festivals, the Sunday afternoon Tam Tams on the Mountain and the sidewalk cafes . In the summer the night is alive.

I guess I'm just a summer person.

It's a great city all year around.

Autumn is the most beautiful month, when all the maples are scarlet. But spring is the most fun month because the sap starts running, they tap it for maple syrup and all the Bonne Homme festivals begin.

For Quebec City, I would suggest you come either during fall when the colors are very beautiful, or, if you want to come during summer, I would suggest at the beginning of July, it's the time of the summer festival so there are many shows and activities in town. If you'd rather come in winter, then I would suggest end of January of beginning of February for the winter carnival (also lots of activities). So it all depends on what you want.
