When will Canucks stop bashing America?

I'm a Canadian citizen studying at a Canadian university, and I know where you're coming from.

Realize that Canadian universities are often bastions of anti-Americanism compared to society in general because students are, well, students, and want to seem "rebellious" but in reality are shoving their hate down others' throats. Someone posted that anti-Americans are entitled to their opinions. Well yes, but the problem is the other way around - at my university the school newspaper is censored to only publish anti-American and other politicially correct views. Some professors go out of their way to make anti-American (and it's not always about Bush or Iraq) comments to please students and perhaps get higher ratings on RateMyProfs. No amount of logical debate will change this, because the student body is Big Brother, no matter how "liberal" they call themselves.

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do besides ignore them - just know that not all Canadians are bashers.

Yes, we don't need America's protection to self govern ourselves.
3/Would you enjoy the technology that exists in every Canadian household?
I can do without the Krispy Cremes, the rest more or less comes from Japan.
4/ Who is the cause of Canada's surplus economy?
Canadians are.
5/It's about time you people realize how much the USA means to your nation.
We realize it. You're a pretty handy place to sell goods to ( that's a trade surplus, but as a Business student you should know this) and without you we'd have a hard time finding a country to point fingers at.
You seem to forget that my country was essentially founded by people that held a much different view than your American Founding Fathers. There is a difference that spans from 1776 to the present day. Our two countries agree on many things, and we also disagree on equally as many. Just as you hold to your American values, we hold to ours but we don't mind taking the best of any culture and trying to incorporate it or celebrate it in some form.

I am also a yank studying in Canada, and I've seen very little anti-Americanism.

Helpful hint: if you start being polite, you might see some in return.

You know what, most of us don't think about the US long enough to bash it. I don't really care enough. I have friends there and I love visiting there.

However, you also have to think about where all your diabetics would be without Canada as well. Canada has offered a lot to the world as well.

America isn't the end all and be all. I think you need to get over yourself.

You might be overgeneralizing. Most Canadians don't have a problem with America, its foreign policies, etc. Of course, some do. Then again, so do some Americans.

We are not nor have ever been a democratic nation. Canada was part ot the British empire and is now the larges empire by land area on the planet.
Yes a Canadian invented the telephone, A Brit the computer so if an an American had not invented the light bulb somebody else would of.
Your rampant wasteful lifestyles, feel free to reform and make us poor.
After three US invasions and countless trade shafting's we know exactly what the US means to Canada.

If you don't like the environment that you have chosen to be in, then go home. Get out of our country and then you won't have to be so offended by the people here, who, btw, are entitled to their own opinions.

When will Americans get over their superiority complex? Because obviously if one American such of yourself can act that way, then it means every other person in the US is exactly the same, right?

Seriously, of course we bash America. Just as I know alot of Americans bash Canada. Get over it. For the most part its only just friendly rivalry, and it goes both ways.

Its weird to see them bash us because if they were neighbors with Afganistan or Iraq do you think they would feel so high and mighty? Canada is United States Junior
