While aboard ship or on the aircraft, you will be given a customs declaration form....fill out the identification part, answer all the questions and sign the reverse side....present it to the Immigration and Customs Inspectors on arrival....if you're arriving by land borders you'll identify yourself during oral declaration |

They just ask you a few standard questions about whether you are bringing any fruits, animals, tobacco or liquor into the country as the fruits and animals are prohibited items and the tobacco or liquor would have to have duty paid on them. |

When I went to Toronto in 1986, a stern-faced young woman asked me what was the purpose of my visit and how long exactly was I staying. She held my gaze all the time. She then told me that I had 90 days to leave Canada and that if my passport number had not been processed through the computer as leaving the country by 90 days, the computer would issue a warrant for my arrest (!!!) and I would be deported and NEVER allowed into Canada again.
Apart from that, my visit was great! |

I'm Canadian but I live in Britain and go home often. All they care about at Customs is that you are going back home, and sometimes will ask for an address where you are staying whilst in Canada. Of course they don't want drug smugglers but they have people looking for you long before you get to that desk if they suspect you of that. You will only be interrogated if you have no return ticket or not enough money to see you through your time there. |

I travel to Vancouver regularly and immigration just ask the usual questions.why are you here?where are you staying and how long?
You fill in a declaration on the plane about food/criminal record/firearms etc.
Customs is just the same as UK.They will stop you (if you look a bit dodgy!!!)and search your bag and ask questions if they want to. |

When I went in 1994, the immigration officer (not customs) at Toronto just asked how many items of luggage I had, and how long I was intending to stay ("until two weeks next Thursday.." was my reply). |

I have been to Canada a few times. They ask what is the purpose of your visit and how long you are staying and they are usually pretty stren looking but as long as you answe their questions they're ok..One even wanted to see my return ticket once.On the plane you fill in a customs declaration saying what you are bringing in to Canada. |
