Where are the best places to visit in Toronto, and what are my chances of seing the northern lights? |
I live in England, and this summer I'm going on my first non-parents holiday, with friends, before I go to uni. I'm staying in some scout campsites around Toronto, and staying in the city for a while. What can I not afford to miss while I'm there? I've heard it's a great place but I don't really know much about it. And I've heard of someone who saw the northern lights while staying there - what are my chances in August this year, do you think? |

Obviously the CN Tower is a must, and a trip or two to Niagara Falls. Seeing the falls at day is fab - but after dark is awesome with coloured lights on them. Toronto is huge, try checking out the Dome too - to see the Blue Jays in a baseball game.
Not sure about the Northern Lights though, but that said I guarantee you'll have a great time |

it's usually pretty hard to see the northern lights unless you're far away from the city lights. they are definitely worth the trip out to the middle of nowhere though. |

metro toronto zoo
museums
High park
Ontario Place
CN tower
Sky dome aka Rogers Renter
Eatons center (for shopping)
Kensington Market
Niagra Falls
Georgian Bay
Toronto Board walk
CNE (canadian national exhebition runs near the end of august)
For Norther lights u would have to go outside of the city for, u won't be able to see much from inside the city. Georgian Bay would be a good place but its 2-4 hours outside of the city so plan an over night trip for that. U may have a good chance of seeing them if its not too smoggy but chances are better in October or September.
check out some Toronto tourist/travel sites and see what they suggest. |
