Where can I get a photo for a Canadian Passport ? (they won't accept picture from photo shops)?

Go to any place that does passport photos, but take a copy of the Canadian photo specs with you and tell them that's what you need. It's not that different from a US passport photo, but the person taking the picture needs to know what exactly it is you need.

My husband is also a legal US resident and we just had to get him a Canadian passport. His first picture from Wal-mart got rejected because of a shadow on his ear. We wound up going to Sears and showed them the paperwork of exactly what they needed. It cost about. $15.00 but they finally approved his photo. It seems they are a little tougher on giving passports to those living outside of Canada.

You say you are a legal resident of the US, but are you a Canadian citizen? If you are Canadian, how did you get US resident status without a Canadian passport? Anyway, I have a Canadian passport and I had the photos taken at Costco.
