Try your local library, in the Non-Fiction section. And if your library has the latest Encyclopedias and Almanacs. If you are in the US and have the typical world knowledge the US Educational System instills in it's students...an Atlas would help as well, just to show the relative sizes of the countries involved. (Canada being the second largest country on the Planet by area.)
Remember to approach the information with an open mind...something which people from all countries, not just Canada and the US usually fail to do.
But, for a quick thumb nail sketch...
The Country is Officially Bi-lingual (French/English), and only two of the ten Provinces are also Officially Bi-lingual (New Brunswick and Manitoba).
Canada is part of the British Commonwealth, and still recognises the British Monarch as the Head of State.
Canada is blessed with one of the greatest stores of natural resources in the world.
Canada is a Multicultural Nation, which means that we celebrate all of the Cultures that make-up Canada (as long as the practices of those cultures do not harm anyone and are peaceable).
Canada has a Peaceable History, but also a proud History of Service when needed (WW's I & II, Korea, the Balkans, and now Afghanistan).
A Canadian Prime Minister won the Nobel Peace Prize for the idea of using Soldiers as a Maintainer of Peace instead of an Inflicter of War.
And lots of other things. |
