Where can a canadian go for a great Honeymoon within Canada?

Hi, I live in Alberta, and I'm getting married this august. I'm looking for great places to go within Canada for our Honeymoon. Any ideas? We where hoping somewhere in the east, but are their tours? What is there to do out that way?

Well, the traditional honeymoon location for many is Niagara Falls. However, to me that is a bit like going to Las Vegas for a honeymoon. It can be nice, but the neon, the other tourists, and some of the tacky places kind of distract from the romance and relaxation you may be looking forward to. Still, there is something attractive about a hotel room that looks over the falls at night.

However, if you want a few other ideas, I would propose:

QUEBEC
The walled Quebec City is said to be the oldest settlement in Canada, and will be celebrating its 400th anniversary this year. There are many romantic things to do there, such as horse drawn carriages, cobblestone roads, intimate restaurant venues, lush hotels, cruises in the seaway, a visit to Montmorency Falls. You get the look and feel of Europe, but still pay Canadian dollars and don't have to take a 8+ hour flight.

You are also only three hours from Montreal, which offers a vibrant nightlife with all its bars, clubs, and downtown shopping. Montreal from June to August has loads of festivals, such as the Jazz Fest, Just For Laughs, and the International Fireworks competition.

English and French are understood and spoken in most of the touristy sections of both Montreal and Quebec City.

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
If you like beautiful countryside, seaside towns, seafood, and rustic charm, check out PEI. You can go golfing, swimming, boating, visit the Anne of Green Gables heritage site, and many other great things in the area.

NOVA SCOTIA
Halifax is considered the gateway to Atlantic Canada. they have a number of things to do in the area, such as nature tours, museums, saling ship tours, and other fun stuff for the outdoors and adventurous type. Cape Breton is just a bit North and could be a stop for the local culture, scenery, and the food.

I would also have suggested a holiday in Banff, Whistler, or on a cruise off the coast of BC, but since you are from Alberta, that may be something you could do another time, since you are closer to that area than to an east coast adventure.

Went to the Maritimes with my wife on our honeymoon. I would definitely recommend Cape Breton island, it's just beautiful.

Best is to just fly to Halifax, rent a car, and drive around.

Quebec city would be good. (it has a very european flavour to it and is so different, its quite impressive!)
also, Montreal is really nice.

Damnnn, SteveN nailed it again!
