In Jasper National Park I“ve seen many. I“ve come face to face with a black bear whilst fishing. At the time it was the most frightening moment of my life, but now looking back it was the most exhillerating experience. I think the road to Lake Louise out of Jasper is the 93. However there is another road that meets up with the 93. It is the 93A. It is much quieter and more chance for you to see wildlife. Black and Grizzly bears can often be seen at the side of the road grazing, so don“t drive fast and just enjoy the scenery whilst looking for bears.
I envy you so very much. I“ve been to the Canadian Rockies 3 times. Words can not describe the beauty of the place. You will have a memorable holiday. You are in for a fantastic time. Enjoy.

Polar bear tourism begins about that time in Churchill, on Hudson Bay. As the sea freezes, the bears move out onto the ice for seal hunting.

Just visit any landfill in New Brunswick to see all the black bears you could want.

You have a pretty decent chance of seeing bears in Jasper or Banff National Parks - except they might be heading to bed in October.

Whistler BC has a lot of black bears hanging around the townsite, but again.. they might be going to bed for the winter in October.

i work on a ranch, where there's a few bears to be seen...in their natural habitat, collecting food for the cold winter

I Love My Kitties
Really, in Alaska and Canada you see lots of wildlife...black, brown, & grizzly bears, moose, caribou, eagles, mountain goats, etc. Usually in October its a little colder...the best time Ive seen bears was in summer.

In summer Ive seen tons and tons of bears, mainly at national parks/forests and just driving along the Alaskan highway. You dont usually seen them on mountains..more in the valleys by lakes and stuff.
