Where do actors in Canada go to make films in Canada?

Where is the Canadian version (per-say) of hollywood. Are Canadian actors well paid?
Also, I live in PA (in the US) and have been thinking of moving to Canada, perhaps Montreal. Whats it like and how are the people, cost of living, economy (job's and money to be made)?

It's going to take years, at best, to get a visa. You should plan for that:

Don't forget Vancouver, lots of film work there.

for film. Toronto is like LA, and Montreal is like New York...decide the kinds of films you want to do. You will likely find living in Canada more expensive and less well paid than living in the states (the actors tend to make the trip south, not north). Everything else about Canada is amazing. Montreal is extremely cheap to live (in Canada) and has a great vibe.

Goodbye G
i wouldnt say montreal is exactly cheap to live in, but it its much cheaper than toronto and it has a much better feel to it than toronto does. The shopping and nighlife is better in montreal than toronto because in montreal there is more of a chic vibe than in montreal.

Dead Day Afternoon
If they want to look like they are in New York or Chicago they shoot in Toronto. If they want a California look they shoot in Vancouver.

Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal are the major film and TV cities.

If a Canadian actor or comedian wants to be well paid they move to LA and pretend to be American.

Vancouver is known as hollywood north and a lot of movies, american movies too, are being filmed in Toronto and Hamilton..."The Hulk" was just shot in Hamilton, Ontario

And believe it or not some good movies and tv shows have been shot in Saskatchewan. Just something to consider besides the stereotypical Toronto or Vancouver.
