Toronto is in Ontario. Ontario is the most populated province of Canada. Toronto is the Ontario's capitol city, and Ottawa, also in Ontario, is the Canadian capitol. 2/3 of all Canadians live in Southern Ontario, along Highway 401. Toronto is in Southeastern Ontario, located on Lake Ontario and is about a 1 and half hour drive from Buffalo, New York. It is the most populated Canadian City and is most similar to Chicago, Illinois.

Toronto is in the PROVINCE of Ontario.

(This is one of the reasons that people don't like americans. Anybody else would be smart enough to know the answer or be able to look it up themselves.)

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Ontario is north of New York State and Michigan, east of Manitoba and west of Quebec. Specifically, Toronto is on the north coast of Lake Ontario, only a couple of hours drive from the American border (The closest border is near Buffalo).

?
Toronto is located in the souther part of the province of Ontario. Just to give you a closer point of where to look on a map, pull up a map of North America. Locate New York State and Michigan. You see the large lakes on the northern part of those states? Go to the eastern-most one. On the northern part of that lake (which should be labled Lake Ontario), lies the city of Toronto.
