Niagara Falls is where Lake Erie pours into Lake Ontario by way of a river and a huge drop in elevation. The border between the US (New York State) and Canada (Ontario Province) runs through the middle of the falls. Niagara Falls, USA is on one side, Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada on the other. The Canadian side has hotels, casinos, and all the hype -- it also has the best view of the falls. The US side is much quieter. You can walk across the border by way of The Rainbow Bridge (pedestrians free to Canada, $0.50 to come back to the USA).

Both. There is a Niagara Falls, NY and a Niagara Falls, Canada. They both border the Niagara Falls waterfall.

It is in both, and is two different cities, one on either side of the border, both bearing the same name. As well as also being a waterfall.

The falls are in the middle of Niagara Falls Ontario Canada and Niagara Falls New York USA.

The Canadian side (sorry folks) is nicer by a landslide. Lots to do and lots to see. I was there Jan 24/25 for the Icewine Festival, freezing cold, but fun. Shopping in Niagara Falls New York has always been a favourite for me.

The falls themselves are on the Niagara River, which is the border of Canada and New York State. Niagara Falls, New York is the city near the falls on the New York side. St. Catherines is the Ontario city nearby on the Canadian side.

Niagara falls is situated in the Lake erie....one side of the falls is USA and the other side is the Canada.The canadian city of toronto is situated on one side and the USA city niagara falls on one side. From USA side the state is NY and from canadian side the is the state of Ontario. The niaara falls is on the international boundary between USA and canada and it is shared in half by these two countries. There is also a city on the USA side by the name niagara falls.
