Where is a good place in Canada to live in?

I live in the US and I'm thinking about moving up to Canada. Is there a city that has good public transportation (that is a must), not TOO many people, and is basically a nice place to live in? Also, I don't know any French, so should I learn a little before I move up there?

Toronto is Canada's largest city. With that public transit is top-notch. It's expensive though. York Region, [Suburban] which is immediately north of Toronto [proper], has a new bus rapid transit [Viva], and regular transit is decent too.

Waterloo Region is less expensive than the traditional GTA suburbs, and has decent transit as well.

Don't worry, as long as you don't move to Quebec, you won't require French at all.

i love Vancouver but its very expensive Toronto has excellent transportation but its also a very beautifull city

You'll find the best public transportation in Toronto or Vancouver but they are both big cities with tons of people. But it all depends on where you live in them. They are fairly expensive as well. There are tons of nice cities but the smaller they get, the worse public transportation you'll find.
Also depends whether you want to live on the East/West Coast? And unless you move to Quebec, you won't need to know French. If you need any info you can e-mail me: andreea.r@hotmail.com

Calgary, I'd say. 1 million, lots to do, very clean TONS of work, Rocky Mountains, Edmonton is the same size and less hectic, work out the ying-yang. Victoria, on Vancouver island is REALLY nice, 300,000, warmest climate in Canada, right beside Vancouver/Seattle. Toronto is huge, brutal people/traffic.

I live in Montreal. If you like fashion , you will love Montreal. If you like to party, Montreal is ideal. Downtown montreal is full of exictement. Everywhere you turn is fashion, clubs and people. If you are more on the quiet side i would suggest in quebec in the west Island or in hudson (country) Learn a bit of french, unless you move to laval, then everyone is perfectly french and english. But if you want a quiet place come on down to the west island in quebec where I live, everyone is english here so don't worry.

The suiburbs of Vancouver are nice Dont worry about french See tourismvancouver hellobc the Olympics are comming lots of work

Consider Toronto, there's good transportation from the TTC (buses, streetcars and MAJOR subway). To avoid many people, live in a suburb around Toronto (if you have a family).

We (very) rarely speak French in Toronto so you don't have to worry. The only place we speak French is probably in school (elementary & middle school) .
