To begin with, all of Canada will suit you quite well. Just try stay out of the big cities if you don't want to sacrifice family time due to work commutes and hustle and bustle.
As an American family you will probably want to stay out of Quebec unless you know how to speak French. Its also quite a culture shock because its much more European there in fashion, tolerance, social services, and other things.
I would suggest you look in BC, Alberta, or Ontario. As for cities try Kamloops, BC; Kelowna, BC; Abbotsford, BC; Lethbridge, Alberta; Red Deer, Alberta; Airdrie, Alberta; Okotoks, Alberta; London, Ontario; St. Catherines, Ontario; Kingston, Ontario; Ottawa, Ontario; or Barrie, Ontario.
In all of these places jobs are plentiful and the environment is good to raise a family, especially a large one such as your own. Wikipedia the cities on the list and compare things that would cater to personal preferences such as size, climate, location to major cities, and other things you might be concerned about.

It will depend on what you want. My grandparents moved to Prince Edward Island from Massachusetts way back when and never regretted their choice. P.E.I. is one of the best places to raise a family but since jobs are less plentiful, work can be a problem. My best advice for you is to take a good look at each Province(State), they all have web-sites you can check out(mostly tourism stuff) then if you see an area you like, go to mls.ca, click on the Province, then click on the area you like and check out real estate prices. Then if you go to the Government of Canada web-site, you will find a National job bank where you can see what jobs are in the area you like. There are links there to check out average temperatures as some parts of our great Country can be a tad more severe in the winter.Best wishes in your search, please feel free to e-mail me from my profile and I will try to help, I have lived and worked in every Province and Territory at some time or other and may be able to direct to the right place for you and yours. Your priorities will dictate where you should go as this is a huge Country and all areas have their pros and cons. |

To the list, I would like to end Regina and Saskatoon in Saskatchewan. The entire province is going through a prolonged economic boom and both cities offer plenty of jobs, while housing costs are still comparatively low |

I personally live in Kelowna, B.C. and have found it to be a very family friendly place to live. There are mountains for skiing and hiking, lakes for swimming and boating, many festivals for activites, lots of recreation centres, wonderful weather and a worker shortage so lots of available jobs! The downside to Kelowna is the housing prices are quite high.
I don't think you can go wrong living anywhere in Canada as long as you know what you want and choose a place where you can find the things that are important to you. Good Luck to you and your family in your choice! |

There are pedophiles in the states too so pay no attention to that comment. I would live in the GTA or a small town like Tottenham or Brantford. |
