Where is the best place to shop in downtown toronto?

i'm going to be staying at the delta chealse for a day and would like to know if there is anything near by where i can shop. it'll be my first time in toronto. i'm not sure what shopping is like there, is it along the main street or all in a mall?

Shop for what? Clothes? Yorkville in DT Toronto is the chic neighborhood to shop for designer stuff.

John W
Eaton Centre at Yonge St. and Dundas St.

Capri
Eaton centre will be a good option as yorkville is expensive,u can try queen and John area as well

Yorkville is WAY overpriced.

china town is fun to shop in (kensington market too)

Also Queen street between spadina and yonge is pretty trendy with alot of cool stores
then the eatons center is obviously good too

There are alot of smaller stores if you go up yonge st (north) from the eatons center

yea go to yorkville...from the delta chelsea just go up north on bay st till you hit bloor and all the big shops are lined up there along bloor and there's more on cumberland which is the next street and yorkville st and hazelton lanes mall. it's like a 15 min walk or 2 min cab ride from delta chelsea. for cheaper more common products you can go to eaton centre which is like 7-8 min walk from delta chelsea. although eaton centre is big and much hyped about, most of the stores inside are the same as you'd find in any other mall and there's nothing that special. it's just like any other mall but bigger and hence can accomodate more stores. there are a few expensive luxury stores but if you're looking for luxury just go north to yorkville.

if it's your first time in toronto then definitely go to bloor-yorkville. the stores are along the main street. if you've been to 5th Avenue, New York...it's a microcosm of that. Nothing compared to NYC but biggest luxury shopping place in Canada. And the big stores are definitely what separates Toronto from any other Canadian city including Montreal. The number of big name designer stores beats any city in Canada. Just get in a cab and tell the driver to take you to Holt Renfrew and you're set!

If you can't find something at Yorkville, you cant find it in Canada.
