Just returned from a trip to Toronto and Niagara Falls with my family. The kids loved the Toronto Zoo and Marineland (the killer whales are awesome) and my husband and I liked both, too. The Falls are beautiful on the Canadian side, definitely worth seeing. I haven't been in a few years but the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto is great if you like hockey. You can see the Stanley Cup and get your picture taken with it. Standing on the glass window in the floor looking down from the CN tower is cool, too. There's something for everyone in Toronto.

Wow, you mean ANYWHERE in Canada? That's a huge distance to cover LOL If you're closer to the East Coast, Prince Edward Island is the most memorable place you could ever have a family vacation. I spent most of my childhood there and they were the most magical times of my life. It's the most beautiful scenerey (the dirt here is actually a reddish colour) with nice beaches, lighthouses etc., but amazing fun parks for the kids. You can drive the entire island in a day, but it's best to spend at least a couple days in the Cavendish area. Some places to visit are Woodleigh, Kensington Water Gardens (sounds boring but it really is amazing for kids! lots of fun stuff like Woodleigh), Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, if your kids have ever watched Anne of Green Gables you can visit the house/grounds, King's Castle, Santa's Woods, Shining Waters Family Fun Park, Wax World of the Stars, Fantazmagoric Museum of the Strange and Unusual, Car Life Museum...... There's something neat to see in every region and both girls and boys (as well as parents!) will have a blast. You can order or download a free guide and take a look at all the attractions here: http://www.gov.pe.ca/visitorsguide/search/search.php3?thetype=attract&indexonly=yes&PHPSESSID=6761ec738c4af355e46201ac67defb22
Also, the fastest way to get there is the newly constructed Confederation bridge from New Brunswick, but for a more magical experience, take the ferry from Caribou, Nova Scotia. http://www.peiferry.com/ If you come from Halifax it's probably cheaper than spending money on gas and a LOT more fun.
And while in Cavendish you can leave your car parked in one area and take the red trolley which runs hourly in the summer and visits each of the nearby attractions daily (like a bus). |

Penticton or Kelowna, BC.
Great weather, beautiful lake, nice beach, camping or hotels available. Fun party scene, great bars for the younger guys, nice and relaxing for the older folks. Activities such as water skiing, wake boarding, hiking, horseback riding, visiting wineries, floating down canals, etc. |

It depends what you want to do.
Vancouver (and bc) has a lot to do ... beaches. . mountains (well out of vancouver) not so much in ways of theme parks .. but great driving through great scenery and good times.
Toronto has a lot more to do in terms of theme parks .. Canadas wonderland, wild water kingdom, the exhibition (middle of aug), Centre Island. |

Gotta be Vancouver. The Pacific National Exhibition is on, which is a combination of fall fair, playland, exhibitions, crafts, all the fun of a midway, animals, auto races, and other stuff. Good fun for all ages.
In addition, if you're into theatre, there is a TON of stuff going on, including Bard on the Beach, a Shakespearean festival, with four of the Bard's works performed in a tent on the beach at Vanier Park. It's been going for 15 years and is a sellout.
Of course, Vancouver is on the water, so there are water sports of all types available. You can paddle canoes, kayaks, take mini-cruises. Or you can take the gondola up Grouse Mountain and ride mountain bikes down the hill, or hike the Grouse Grind (a world-famous uphill hike) to get a good workout.
There is Science World, for kids, with hands on science exhibitions, Granville Island for funky shopping, a Train Museum, a Maritime Musuem, a Planetarium, beaches, beaches, beaches. Rent a bike and ride around Stanley Park -- the list goes on and on.
For a few more ideas, log on to HelloBC.com and fire up your imagination.
Come, and enjoy! |

There're 4 nice options
1) Quebec City and area. Something for everybody including a beautiful city, culture, tons of festivals, whale watching (kids will NEVER forget that one)...
2) Ottawa and area. Capital with great nature around it. Many museums (also interactive activities for children), Gatineau Park and hills,...
3) Niagara/Toronto/area
falls, Canada's Wonderland, Marineland,...
4) Vancouver and area (pacific and mountains, multicultural activities,,,)
I've done them all and Quebec City is the greatest. One of the most beautiful cities on earth (I've been to Madrid, Rome, Paris, Munich. Berlin, New York....) with charm. Also visit the waterfalls (30 minutes drive), St.Anne de Beaupre (great church), fantastic shopping, waterparks,... so much to see ! |
